Weather report for Apr 21, 2025

Clouds are sticking around across much of the Northeast today, from Timmins to Kapuskasing and over to Hearst. Temperatures will hover around 5°C for most communities, with a stiff wind making it feel a bit cooler, especially along exposed roads and open areas.

Scattered showers are expected through the afternoon, but nothing too heavy—just enough you might want to keep a jacket handy. Winds from the northwest around 20 to 30 km/h will persist, with occasional gusts higher, particularly in the open north of Timmins and areas near Moosonee.

By evening, skies should start to clear gradually, especially toward Kirkland Lake and the eastern stretches, with overnight lows dropping to -2°C to 0°C. Frost is possible in outlying and rural spots, so if your garden is started, cover up any delicate plants.

Looking ahead to Tuesday, expect more sun to return, but mornings will remain chilly. Afternoon highs should climb closer to 10°C as winds become lighter. Midweek stays seasonable with a mix of sun and cloud, and a slight risk of passing showers midweek.

For the upcoming weekend, the Northeast is trending toward drier and milder weather—early forecasts suggest highs reaching 12–14°C by Saturday, with more sun than cloud. A good time to plan ahead for outdoor work or some time on the trails.
