Mild start to the day across Northeast Ontario, with temperatures this morning ranging from 14°C to 15°C in communities like Timmins, Hearst, Kapuskasing, and Moosonee. Expect plenty of sunshine, especially early, with skies staying mostly clear through the afternoon and highs climbing to 24°C or 25°C for most areas. Winds will be light, picking up briefly this afternoon from the southwest at 15–20 km/h.
Humidity remains modest, so it should feel comfortable outdoors, but the UV index will be high around midday—if you’re spending time outside, sunscreen is a good idea.
This evening, skies will stay mainly clear as temperatures slip back to 15°C overnight. No need for umbrellas today, but keep in mind that patchy fog could develop around sunrise Thursday, especially near rivers and low-lying areas—drive safe if you’re commuting early.
Looking ahead:
- Thursday brings a mix of sun and cloud, and a touch more humidity, with highs reaching 26°C. A few pop-up showers or a thunderstorm are possible by late afternoon, mainly south and west of Highway 11, but most of the region will stay dry.
- Friday sees partly cloudy skies and highs again near 25°C. Conditions look ideal for summer activities.
Weekend Preview:
- The weekend in the North starts warm, with Saturday featuring mostly sunny skies and highs of 27°C.
- Sunday looks slightly cooler as a weak front moves in, bringing a chance of scattered showers, especially in the afternoon, with highs around 23°C.
All in all, enjoy the fair stretch of weather this week, and don’t forget to plan ahead for the potential Sunday showers.
