Weather report for May 20, 2025

Expect a mostly cloudy Tuesday across the Northeast, with on-and-off showers moving through much of the day. Temperatures will hover around 12°C by the afternoon in Timmins, Kapuskasing, and Hearst, feeling cool with a steady breeze from the northwest.

Patchy drizzle is likely to linger into the evening before drying up overnight, when it’ll dip to lows near 3°C to 5°C. Things look much the same for Moosonee and north along the James Bay coast: cool, grey, and the occasional sprinkle.

Looking ahead:

  • Wednesday brings periods of sun and cloud, with milder highs close to 17°C and less wind.
  • Thursday should be the warmest day of the workweek, approaching 21°C under a mix of sun and cloud. A brief afternoon shower is possible, but nothing widespread.
  • Friday looks more unsettled again, with increasing cloud and spotty showers returning to much of NEOn, highs in the upper teens.

Weekend preview:

  • Saturday will likely start damp, with scattered showers tapering off late in the day. Expect afternoon sunny breaks and cooler highs of 15°C.
  • Sunday looks brighter—mostly sunny and dry, highs around 18°C—ideal for getting outside if you’ve got plans.

If you’re out today, an umbrella might be handy and a light jacket will be appreciated.
