Black River-Matheson Announces Grant for Business Accessibility Upgrades

Business owners in Black River-Matheson who install automatic door openers at the main entrance of their businesses may apply for a grant of up to $2,500, according to a public notice issued by the Township and its Accessibility Advisory Committee.

According to the announcement, applications can be submitted only after the door opener has been installed. The deadline to submit an application is August 29, 2025. The notice also states that grants are scheduled to be awarded by September 30, 2025.

The Accessibility Advisory Committee has indicated that it will assist applicants with the process. More information is available in the public notice posted by the Township.
