Black River-Matheson Proclaims June 2025 as Seniors’ Month

The Township of Black River-Matheson has formally proclaimed June 1 to 30, 2025, as Seniors' Month. The proclamation was signed by Mayor Dave Dymett and the township council on June 12, 2025.

The proclamation notes that Seniors' Month is an annual province-wide celebration in Ontario, aiming to acknowledge the roles of seniors in the community.

According to the official document, seniors have contributed and continue to contribute to the life and vitality of Black River-Matheson. The proclamation states that seniors serve as mentors, volunteers, and active community members. It further notes that their contributions, both past and present, merit appreciation and recognition. The proclamation also states that the health and well-being of seniors is of interest to all residents and contributes to the vitality of the community.

The document, signed by Mayor Dave Dymett, encourages all citizens to recognize and celebrate the contributions of seniors during June.
