CFIA issues Class 2 recall of Al-Ghazal tahini (18 kg) in Ontario over Salmonella risk
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a Class 2 recall for Al-Ghazal brand tahini sold in 18 kg containers in Ontario due to potential Salmonella contamination, effective Oct. 7, 2025.
The recall applies to hotels, restaurants and institutions in Ontario. The agency advises the product must not be used, sold, served or distributed.
The affected product is Al-Ghazal brand Tahini (18 kg) with UPC 6 224002 971050.
The recalled lot is marked with these codes on the label: PRO: 23/4/2025; EXP: 22/9/2026; B.N/548E4.
The recalling firm is Mawasem Trading Inc., doing business as Naz’s Falafel House Inc.
CFIA lists the issue as Food – Microbial contamination – Salmonella. The alert type is a Notification under the Food – Condiments category.
