CFIA issues Class 3 recall of Dion brand herbs over presence of insects

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) posted a Class 3 recall notice on Sept. 23, 2025 for several Dion brand herb products due to the presence of insects, and advises consumers and retailers not to use, sell, serve or distribute the affected items. The recalling firm is 9030-5418 Quebec Inc., and distribution is national, according to the notice.

The CFIA categorizes the issue as “Food — Extraneous Material (presence of insects).” The alert type is “Notification” under the “Food — Herbs and spices” category, and the notice identifies the intended audience as retail.

The recall date is Sept. 17, 2025. The notice lists the last update as Sept. 19, 2025 and the original published date as Sept. 23, 2025. The identification numbers are RA-78105 and CFIA ID 16764.
