CFIA Recalls Al Kanater Brand Tahini Sold in Ontario for Possible Salmonella
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled Al Kanater brand tahini due to possible Salmonella contamination. The CFIA states that the affected product is sold in 454 gram containers with a UPC of 6 92551 00002 0 and a best before date of August 19, 2025.
According to the CFIA, the recalled tahini was distributed in several provinces, including Ontario. Residents in Northeastern Ontario are advised to check Al Kanater tahini products for the matching UPC and best before date. The CFIA advises that the product should not be consumed, used, sold, served, or distributed.
As stated by the CFIA, this recall is part of a food safety investigation. No illnesses related to this product have been reported as of the date of the announcement.
