CFIA Recalls Hak Brand Kale and Spinach for Rubber Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced a recall of Hak brand Kale and Spinach products on May 15, 2025, due to the possible presence of pieces of rubber. The affected products were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.

This recall is classified as Class 3 by the CFIA, which indicates the presence of extraneous material in food. The agency has advised that the products should not be used, sold, served, or distributed.

According to the CFIA, the recall applies to the following Hak brand products with lot codes from LG262 up to and including LG292:

  • Kale, 340 g (UPC: 8720600608605)
  • Kale, 680 g (UPC: 8720600609824)
  • Spinach, 330 g (UPC: 8720600608940)
  • Spinach, 630 g (UPC: 8720600609817)

The recalling firm is listed as Global Reach Confections & More Inc. The CFIA published the notice with identification number RA-77451 (ID 16555) on its official recall website.
