Cochrane Child Care Centre posting seeks temporary Teacher’s Aid; applications due July 24
A full-time temporary Teacher’s Aid position is open at the Cochrane Child Care Centre in Cochrane, with applications due by 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2026, according to a Town of Cochrane job posting.
The posting lists a pay range of $24.12 to $25.28 per hour, as well as benefits, a defined-benefit pension, work hours and minimum qualifications for the role.
The Town of Cochrane says the job is a 12-month maternity leave replacement, with the possibility of an extension to 18 months. The posting lists a July 24 deadline but also says the position will remain open until filled.
The town lists the hours of work as 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
According to the posting, the Teacher’s Aid assists staff in a designated program in a child-care setting, including general supervision of children and helping prepare and carry out day-to-day program activities.
Responsibilities listed include supervising children during daily routines and ensuring their safety and well-being. The posting also says the role involves maintaining daily communication with children, families, staff and community contacts.
Other duties include assisting with planning and implementing programs and the child-care environment under the direction of a teacher, as well as sharing housekeeping responsibilities. The posting also lists reporting concerns to a supervisor and attending staff meetings, workshops and training as required.
Minimum qualifications include an Ontario Secondary School Diploma, with additional courses in Early Childhood Education listed as an asset. The posting also requires demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate tactfully with children, parents and staff. It also lists excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
A Criminal Reference Check is required, and CPR, First Aid and WHMIS training are listed as assets. The posting states AI will not be used in the selection process.
