Cochrane Schedules Special Town Council Meeting for June 4
The Town of Cochrane will hold a special council meeting on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at 171 Fourth Avenue and can be attended in person or online through the town's official website.
This meeting has been called in accordance with section 9 of the Town of Cochrane's procedural by-law 1526-2022. The agenda will include new business items such as a motion to rescind Resolution 2025-94 concerning the Highway 11 Western Avenue turn lane, and a motion for a temporary exception to the town’s debt management policy.
Additionally, council members will discuss unfinished business related to updates on the 2025 operating and capital budgets. The meeting will also move to an in-camera session under Section 239 (2) (k) of the Municipal Act to address matters involving a position, plan, procedure, criteria, or instruction for ongoing or upcoming negotiations by or on behalf of the municipality or local board. Organizational structure will also be discussed during this session.
