Cochrane to close Concession 2&3 rail crossing for track work

In a Sept. 19, 2025 notice, the Town of Cochrane said Concession 2&3 between Lillabelle Lake Road and Golf Course Road will close for work at the railway tracks, and no traffic will be allowed to cross the tracks during the closure.

According to the notice, the closure will block through-travel at the rail crossing while allowing access to properties on either side. The town did not list a start time or expected duration in the text provided and directed readers to a “Notice Details and Map” link for further information.

“The Corporation of the Town of Cochrane” stated the road “will be closed at the date and time listed in this notice for work that needs to be completed at the railway tracks.” The advisory adds: “Local traffic and emergency services will be allowed within the road closure on either side of the tracks. However, absolutely no traffic will be allowed to cross the tracks during this work.”

The town posted the advisory on its website under the heading “Notice of Temporary Road Closure – Railway Tracks” and “Road Closed for Work at Railway Tracks.” Beyond the location and purpose of the work and the restriction on crossing, no additional operational details were included in the notice.

While vehicles may travel on Concession 2&3 up to the closure point from either side, the crossing itself will remain closed to all traffic while the work is carried out, the town said.

The notice did not identify the rail operator or contractor responsible for the work, and it did not outline detour routes. The posting is dated Sept. 19, 2025 and includes a link labeled “Notice Details and Map.”
