Crawford Street in South Porcupine reopened after weapons incident, Timmins police say

Crawford Street in South Porcupine reopened to the public at 11:26 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2026, after Timmins police said they had resolved a weapons-related incident.

The Timmins Police Service had earlier asked the public to avoid the area while officers investigated and warned residents to expect a heavy police presence, including the service’s Emergency Response Team.

Police said the incident was reported the afternoon of Feb. 3, 2026, in the area of Crawford Street in South Porcupine.

Police said they believed the incident was targeted and isolated, and that they had no information at the time suggesting a broader risk to public safety.

Police have not released details about what happened or what type of weapon was involved. The service said further updates would be provided once the investigation is completed.
