Evans St. in Timmins to close Oct. 20, 2026, to shift traffic to west side of bridge

Evans St. in Timmins will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, from north of Station St. to south of Laffin Cres., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., though the City of Timmins notes the times may vary.

The closure is tied to work on the Evans St. bridge. The city said it will use the closure to move traffic to the west side of the bridge ahead of the 2027 construction season.

According to the city’s notice, provisions will be in place to allow emergency services access during the closure. The city also said local residential driveway access on Evans St. will be maintained.

The city described the bridge work as a two-year project. It said removal and replacement of the east side of the bridge will begin in 2027.
