Glenwood Beef Jerky Recalled in Four Provinces Over Chemical Contamination

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced on May 26, 2025, a recall of Glenwood brand Teriyaki Beef Jerky Slab due to contamination with chloramphenicol, a chemical substance.

This recall applies to Glenwood Teriyaki Beef Jerky Slab packed in cases of 12 units, each weighing 45 grams. The affected product carries the UPC 0 94321 32051 0, code D31724, and has a best before date of November 12, 2025. According to the CFIA, the recalled product was distributed to food retailers, hotels, restaurants, and institutions in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

The CFIA has advised that the product should not be used, sold, served, or distributed. Glenwood Snacks, LLC is identified as the recalling firm. The CFIA has classified this recall as a Class 3 event under identification number RA-77494. The product falls under the agency’s processed meat and poultry category.
