Gochujang Red Pepper Paste Recalled in Ontario for Undeclared Wheat
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for a Gochujang (spicy red pepper paste) product in Ontario because it contains undeclared wheat.
The recall concerns the 500-gram Gochujang product with only Korean characters on the label and no English brand name. According to the CFIA, the Universal Product Code (UPC) for the recalled product is 8 80 1052 802022. All packages where wheat is not declared on the ingredient list are included in the recall.
Korea Food Trading Ltd. initiated the recall on September 12, 2025. The CFIA published information about the recall on September 18, 2025. The notification is classified as a Class 2 recall, as identified by the CFIA. The recall identification number is RA-78098.
The distribution of the recalled product is limited to Ontario, and the notification is addressed to retailers. The CFIA has advised that the affected product should not be used, sold, served, or distributed.
