High-Speed Internet Expansion Planned for Remote Ontario Communities
The Ontario government has announced a collaboration with Starlink to introduce the Ontario Satellite Internet (ONSAT) program. This initiative aims to provide high-speed satellite internet to 15,000 homes and businesses in underserved areas, including rural and northern regions, starting June 2025. The program is part of a broader effort to ensure internet access across the province by the end of 2025. Details on eligibility and registration will be released in Spring 2025. This initiative is a segment of a nearly $4 billion investment by the government to enhance internet connectivity throughout Ontario.
