Increased Monitoring and Proof of Residency at Black River-Matheson Area Landfills
The Township of Black River-Matheson announced on September 19, 2025, that staff and Story Environmental personnel will be present more frequently at the Matheson and Val Gagné landfill sites to support and monitor operations.
According to the Township's public notice, landfill site users in Holtyre, Matheson, Ratter, Shillington, and Val Gagné may be asked to provide proof of residency when using the facilities.
The notice, signed by Gilles Giguere, Town Manager and Director of Public Services, also states there will be increased communication with the public regarding site compliance and responsible landfill practices.
