Influenza A Outbreak Declared on Medical B Unit at Timmins and District Hospital
The Timmins and District Hospital has declared an outbreak of Influenza A on the Medical B unit. The hospital is working with the Porcupine Health Unit to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and physicians.
- Visitation on Medical B is restricted to Designated Care Partners (DCPs) only until further notice.
- Masking is required at all times within the hospital.
The community is experiencing an increase in respiratory virus transmission, including Influenza A. Residents are encouraged to get their annual flu shot if they have not already done so. Vaccines can be booked online through the Porcupine Health Unit.
