Northern College and Takwata NPLH Drilling to Offer Free Diamond Drilling Training

Northern College in Timmins and Takwata NPLH Drilling are collaborating to provide a tuition-free Diamond Drilling Common Core – Basic training program. The initiative aims to develop a skilled workforce, focusing on Indigenous peoples, women, and youth, for careers in surface and underground drilling environments.

The program will start in Fall 2024. It is designed to offer both theoretical and practical training to help participants secure full-time employment in the mining industry. The collaboration includes Taykwa Tagamou Nation, which aims to provide training and potential employment opportunities for First Nation individuals.
