Northern College Donates $10,000 to Timmins Sports Heritage Hall of Fame

Northern College has donated $10,000 to the Timmins Sports Heritage Hall of Fame. The funds will support the addition of digital sound and vision to the Hall of Fame, located in the McIntyre Community Centre. This enhancement aims to improve the storytelling and engagement related to Timmins' sports history.

Wayne Bozzer, Chair of the Timmins Sports Heritage Hall of Fame, stated that the donation is a significant boost and will help with future grant applications. The Hall of Fame, established in 2010, has inducted approximately 150 members and is run by volunteers.

The Hall of Fame plans to use the funds to create an interactive digital experience for visitors. This includes showcasing pictures, videos, and interviews, as well as live streaming events. The digital integration will also benefit other events hosted at the venue, such as Timmins Rock games and the Mining Show.
