Ontario Announces Launch of My Career Journey Website

The Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security announced on June 11 that it has launched My Career Journey, a new online tool intended to provide students and job seekers with information about education and training for in-demand careers in Ontario.

According to the ministry, My Career Journey is designed for high school students, newcomers to Canada, and people looking to change careers. The website aims to offer users resources about educational and career options in Ontario.

Features of My Career Journey include interactive maps to explore regional in-demand careers and Ontario's postsecondary institutions, such as colleges, universities, and Indigenous Institutes. The site provides job profiles for fields in health care, skilled trades and construction, technology and engineering, and education. The ministry states that users can complete a questionnaire which generates personalized lists of education and career resources, drawing on nearly 100 related sources.

The ministry reports that the development of My Career Journey included consultations with postsecondary institutions, workers, students, and other external stakeholders. The campus map on the website shows over 170 postsecondary campuses in Ontario, including 23 publicly assisted universities, 24 colleges, and nine Indigenous Institutes.

My Career Journey is available to the public at ontario.ca/mycareerjourney.
