Pipeline Maintenance Near Smooth Rock Falls Scheduled for Early September

TC Energy is scheduled to perform pipeline maintenance near Smooth Rock Falls from September 4 to 7, 2025, each day between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., according to a notice from the Town of Smooth Rock Falls.

The notice advises residents that a loud roaring sound may be heard during the maintenance period. The Town states that this is a normal part of the process and that it poses no danger.

The Town's announcement indicates that the maintenance will include a procedure called a blowdown, which it describes as essential for safe pipeline maintenance. According to the notice, the blowdown may last about 20 minutes each day.
