Police Arrest Eight After 911 Call in Timmins
On March 23, 2024, shortly before 2 pm, the Timmins Police Service Uniform Patrol, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police, responded to a 911 call on Carrigan Road, east of Timmins. The investigation led police to contain a residence on Carrigan Road. The Timmins Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP ERT maintained containment while contacting the occupants. Several individuals exited the residence and were arrested.
The Ontario Provincial Police Tactical Response Unit (TRU) was called to assist in removing the remaining occupants and clearing the residence. By 5 am on March 24, 2024, the last two occupants exited the house and were arrested. The house was then cleared and handed back to the Timmins Police Service for further investigation.
In total, eight individuals were arrested. Charges include kidnapping, conspiracy to commit murder, assault, assault with a weapon, and firearms offenses. Six of the eight were held in police custody and remanded on March 24, 2024, with a court appearance scheduled for March 25, 2024.
