Police release suspect photo in Sept. 12 Timmins arson on Third Avenue

Timmins police on Oct. 2 released a suspect photo and asked for the public’s help to identify a person linked to a Sept. 12 structure fire on Third Avenue near Balsam Street South around 3 a.m. The blaze caused significant property damage and is being investigated as arson.

The investigation remains active. Police are asking anyone who can identify the person pictured or who has information about the fire to come forward.

The Timmins Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Sept. 12. After the fire was deemed suspicious, the investigation was turned over to the Timmins Police Service.

Police posted the appeal and the image on their website on Oct. 2 in the Latest News section. No additional description of the person was released beyond the photo.
