Power Interruption Planned in Smooth Rock Falls on August 10

A planned power interruption is scheduled in Smooth Rock Falls on Sunday, August 10, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., according to a notice from the Corporation of the Town of Smooth Rock Falls.

The notice includes information for residents concerned about keeping cool during the outage, particularly those with health concerns.

According to the Town's announcement, residents are advised to take several steps to stay comfortable without power. These include closing curtains or blinds to block sunlight, opening windows for cross-ventilation if the outside temperature is cooler, and using battery-powered fans. The Town also suggests taking cool showers or using damp cloths, drinking plenty of water, wearing lightweight clothing, and avoiding strenuous activity. Additionally, residents are advised to spend time in cooler parts of the home, such as basements, or to visit friends or family who have power during the interruption.
