Public Hearing Scheduled in Cochrane on Land Severance Application B2025-09
CGV Developments has submitted application B2025-09 to the Cochrane and Suburban Planning Board seeking consent to sever a portion of land in Cochrane. A public hearing on the application is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Town Hall, 171 Fourth Avenue in Cochrane.
According to the official notice, the public hearing is being held under Section 53 of Ontario's Planning Act to gather views from residents on the proposed severance prior to a decision from the Planning Board. This process is required by law and gives interested stakeholders the opportunity to provide input.
The application concerns a property legally described as Part Lot 19 and Part Lot 20, Concession 2, Glackmeyer, within the Town of Cochrane. CGV Developments seeks approval to create a new lot of approximately 18,000 square metres (1.8 hectares) with about 90 metres of frontage onto Concession 2 and 3. The remaining land would measure approximately 704,504 square metres (70.45 hectares).
Residents who wish to participate in the public hearing need to contact Town Hall staff by Monday, September 8, 2025. Participation details and options for electronic attendance are available upon request, as stated in the notice. Those wanting to be notified of the Planning Board’s decision regarding the application must make a written request to the Board.
The Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss an appeal if no written submission was made to the Planning Board before it makes its decision, as outlined in the public notice. Additional information about the application can be inspected at Town Hall during regular office hours.
