RCAF Introduces New Career and Education Programs

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) has announced new career opportunities and educational programs. These initiatives include the introduction of the Air Operations Support Technician (AOS Tech) role in the Regular Force and the expansion of the Non-Commissioned Member Subsidized Training and Education Plan (NCMSTEP) to include Aircraft Structures Technician (ACS Tech). Previously, AOS Tech was only available in the Reserve Force but is now a full-time option in the Regular Force. This role involves supporting aircraft maintenance, including tasks such as fueling, towing, and inspections.

The RCAF is also offering paid education plans for technicians in various fields, including Avionic Systems Technicians and Aviation Systems Technicians. The NCMSTEP program covers college tuition and essential program costs, providing students with an annual salary during their studies. Upon graduation, students will work on specific aircraft types within the RCAF.

These programs are part of the RCAF's efforts to attract new recruits and provide career development opportunities within the Canadian Armed Forces. The NCMSTEP is available at 14 aviation colleges across Canada, and the RCAF has conducted a promotional tour to engage with potential candidates.
