Restoration Work on 5th Avenue and 6th Street to Begin June 2 in Cochrane

Restoration work is scheduled to begin the week of June 2, 2025, on 5th Avenue and 6th Street in Cochrane. According to a notice from the Corporation of the Town of Cochrane, the project is expected to be completed by July 25, 2025.

The restoration follows underground infrastructure replacements that took place in 2024. Sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and watermain lines were replaced last year to maintain service in the area. Restoration of driveways, the roadway, sidewalks, and grass boulevards—areas affected by last year’s construction—was postponed and is now set for the summer of 2025.

According to the town, only sections disturbed by the initial construction will be restored. Residents whose properties are within the construction zone will have access to their homes at all times throughout the project. The Town of Cochrane notes that prior notice will be provided if temporary road closures become necessary. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained during the construction period.

Further information, including a map of the affected area, is available on the Town of Cochrane’s official website.
