Smooth Rock Falls Announces 2025 Street Sweeping Schedule and Restrictions

The Town of Smooth Rock Falls will conduct its 2025 Annual Street Sweeping Program from June 5 to June 9, with operations scheduled daily from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, according to a municipal notice.

The program requires all vehicles, trailers, and other obstacles to be removed from streets during operating hours. The Town of Smooth Rock Falls states that parking will not be permitted on local streets for the duration of the sweeping period. Crews may return to the same area for another pass even after an initial sweep, so parking restrictions remain in effect throughout the event.

The notice instructs residents to avoid piling sand or debris from driveways onto the roadway, as sweepers cannot collect material left in piles and will only pick up debris that is spread out. The town also asks residents not to pile leaves or other yard trimmings on the street during the cleaning period.

Drivers are advised in the notice to slow down and give space to street sweeping crews and equipment. Pedestrians are also asked to avoid work areas for safety reasons. The sweeping may start as early as 6:00 am, which could result in early morning noise or brief disruptions.

The schedule for the program may change if weather conditions affect equipment performance, according to the Town of Smooth Rock Falls.
