Smooth Rock Falls Issues Request for Proposals for Municipal Audit Services

The Town of Smooth Rock Falls is requesting proposals from qualified chartered accounting firms to conduct a financial and compliance audit of the town's operations. According to an announcement on the town's website, interested firms must submit their proposals by September 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

The request for proposals outlines the required audit services. Tasks include planning and performing the audit, performing tests of documentary evidence, evaluating internal controls, reviewing the Management Letter, reviewing and preparing certain journal entries, and completing both draft and final versions of the audit report. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing and presenting the town’s consolidated financial statements as well as preparing, entering data, and filing the annual Financial Information Report.

Additional services are specified in the request. The accounting firm is expected to provide technical financial assistance throughout the year. The firm will also need to prepare separate financial statements for the Planning Board and the Library Board.
