Smooth Rock Falls Watermain Project Begins November 4

Construction on the 5th Street watermain extension in Smooth Rock Falls is set to begin on November 4, 2024. The project, managed by Villeneuve Construction Co. Ltd., involves installing a new watermain along Fifth Street, stretching from Main Street to Sixth Street. The work will also include road restoration, with asphalt paving scheduled for completion in 2025.

During the construction period, the intersections at Main Street/Fifth Street, Fifth Street (from Main to Sixth), and Sixth Street/Fifth Street will experience systematic closures as the work progresses. Residents are advised to plan for alternate routes during these times.
