Sweet Cream and D’Effe.t Frozen Pastries Recalled over Salmonella Risk

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has recalled certain Sweet Cream brand and D’Effe.t brand frozen pastries due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recall was issued on June 3, 2024.

According to the CFIA, the affected products include:

  • Sweet Cream brand Cannoli, UPC 6 28504 52104 3, best before June 23, 2024

  • D’Effe.t brand Cannoli, UPC 8 91799 00006 5, best before June 23, 2024

The agency states that these products were sold in Ontario and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.

The CFIA advises residents not to consume, use, sell, or distribute the recalled pastries. Eating food contaminated with Salmonella may cause symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea.

As of the recall date, the CFIA reports no confirmed illnesses associated with these products.

The CFIA recommends that consumers who have the recalled items should return them to the store where they were purchased or safely dispose of them. Further recalls may occur if additional products are identified during the food safety investigation, according to the CFIA.
