Timmins Allocates Prize Money for Rock-Climbing Wall at Local Pool

The City of Timmins has decided to allocate $7,500 in prize money towards the installation of a new rock-climbing wall at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex Pool. This decision follows a vote in which 523 residents participated, with the rock-climbing wall receiving 134 votes. The funds were awarded to Timmins as part of the Participation Community Challenge, a provincial initiative. Other suggestions from residents included additional playground equipment in Porcupine and tennis courts at the park on Cedar Street. These suggestions have been forwarded to the relevant departments for consideration. The rock-climbing wall project is scheduled to be included in the 2025 budget and is expected to be installed next year.
