Timmins issues extreme cold weather alert for March 23, 2026; city says overnight temperature could reach -21 C including wind chill

The City of Timmins issued an extreme cold weather alert for Monday, March 23, 2026, saying the temperature is expected to drop to -21 C overnight, inclusive of wind chill.

The city said exposure to extreme cold temperatures can cause serious and sometimes life-threatening health problems, including frostbite and hypothermia.

In its alert, the city advised residents to protect themselves from extreme cold by avoiding wind exposure, dressing in warm layers, and covering exposed skin.
