Timmins Police Traffic Stats from August 28 & 29
On the evenings of August 28th and 29th, the Timmins Police Service conducted traffic initiatives. During these operations, 55 vehicles were stopped. The following actions were taken:
- 5 warnings were issued for document violations.
- 14 roadside breath tests were conducted, with 12 passing and 2 failing.
- 40 provincial offences and 4 criminal offences were recorded.
The specific offences included:
- 4 counts of improper muffler use.
- 4 counts of failing to surrender an insurance card.
- 3 counts of driving without a validated permit.
- 3 counts of obstructing a license plate.
- 2 counts of disobeying a stop sign.
- 2 counts of failing to stop at a red light.
- 2 counts of failing to surrender a vehicle permit.
- 2 counts of failing to surrender a driver's license.
- 2 counts of driving without a license.
- 2 counts of unnecessary noise.
- 2 counts of speeding.
- 1 count of operating an unsafe vehicle, resulting in the vehicle being towed and license plates seized.
- 1 count of using a plate not authorized for the vehicle, resulting in license plates being seized.
- 1 count of driving with studded tires.
- 1 count of improper bicycle lighting.
- 1 count of failing to signal a lane change.
- 1 count of having an obstructed windshield.
- 1 count of driving without proper headlights.
- 1 count of driving while under suspension.
- 1 count of operating a vehicle without insurance.
- 1 count of driving with an unsealed container of liquor.
- 1 count of driving with liquor in open baggage.
- 1 count of driving with cannabis readily available.
- 2 counts of impaired operation.
- 2 counts of failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
