Timmins Police Introduce CAMSafe Program
The Timmins Police Service has launched the CAMSafe program, a volunteer-based registry of closed circuit, security video, and doorbell cameras. This initiative aims to assist police investigations by allowing officers to verify CCTV availability from their workstations and request footage from registered participants. The program is funded by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and is designed to replace the outdated practice of canvassing for CCTV footage. Participation in CAMSafe is voluntary and free of charge. Residents and business owners can register their cameras at https://camsafe.ca/ or through the Timmins Police Service website.
