Timmins Police report 22 charges during targeted traffic enforcement in Timmins

According to the Timmins Police Service, members of the Traffic Section conducted a focused traffic enforcement initiative in Timmins on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The police reported that this operation resulted in 22 charges being laid under the Highway Traffic Act.

The Timmins Police Service stated that the purpose of the initiative was to address what they described as high-risk driving behaviours and promote roadway safety in the city. Local residents may be impacted by enforcement activities aimed at these traffic concerns.

According to police, the charges included one count each of stunt driving, driving while under suspension, insecure load, obstructed windshield, failing to move over for an emergency vehicle, improper muffler, colour coating obscuring interior, passenger failing to wear a seatbelt, and unsafe turn. Additional charges included three counts of obstructed plates, five counts of speeding, one count of disobeying a stop sign, two counts of failing to stop for an amber light, one count of failing to stop for a red light, and one count of using a hand-held communication device while driving.

The Timmins Police Service also reported that, during the initiative, one individual was arrested after officers determined the person was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Mischief Under $5000 and failure to comply with an appearance notice.
