Timmins sets June 14 hazardous waste drop-off at Spruce Snow Dump
Timmins will hold its annual Household Hazardous & Special Waste drop-off on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spruce Snow Dump. Residents can dispose of items such as old paint, pesticides, batteries and propane tanks at no cost.
Hazardous waste like old paint and pesticides is not accepted with regular garbage or at the landfill. These substances can contaminate soil and groundwater, so specific collection and containment methods are required to help protect the environment.
This is a drive-thru event. Residents remain in their vehicles while volunteers collect items for disposal.
Access is off Pine St. South, then left onto Iroquois Rd. E., past the Timmins Transit Garage.
This year’s event also accepts textiles and gently used household items.
Items being collected include:
- Paint
- Aerosols
- Single-use batteries
- Single-use propane cylinders and refillable propane tanks
- Pesticides
- Antifreeze
- Fuel and oil
- Pharmaceuticals
- Compact fluorescents and fluorescent tubes
- Household electronics
The event is for residents only. Commercial and industrial waste will not be accepted.
