Timmins Snow Removal Schedule for December 11-12, 2024

The City of Timmins has announced its snow removal operations for the week of December 11 to December 12, 2024. The Public Works Department will conduct daytime snow removal from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. On December 11, operations will begin in Timmins North, covering Elm (Fifth to Ninth) and Maple (Fifth to Ninth). The following day, December 12, snow removal will continue in Timmins North on Hemlock (Fifth to Ross), Tamarack (Fifth to Ross), and Spruce (Sixth to Ross). Additionally, in Schumacher, operations will cover Father Costello (Hwy 101 to Boundary), Grant (Lionscrest to Fourth), and Croatia (Battachio to Boundary).

The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or mechanical issues. If a winter storm occurs, snow plowing will take precedence, and any streets not cleared will be addressed in the next available shift.

Residents are reminded of the city bylaw prohibiting the placement of snow from private property onto roads or sidewalks. Yellow No Parking signs will be posted to indicate areas where winter maintenance is scheduled, and vehicles parked in these areas will be ticketed and towed. The winter parking ban remains in effect, prohibiting street parking from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM until April 30.

The priority for snow removal during daytime operations focuses on high-density residential areas, while nighttime operations prioritize highways, high-density commercial sections, and main arterial routes. The Public Works Department emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety signage for the protection of workers.
