Timmins to Reinstate Route 16 Bus Service

Timmins residents will see the return of Route 16 bus service starting October 1, 2024. The route will serve Schumacher, South Porcupine, and Porcupine, operating from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sundays. This reinstatement follows concerns about wait times and bus availability with the current Timmins Transit On-Demand service. Route 101E will be suspended, and the 15-minute frequency between Timmins and Porcupine will be discontinued. Route 16B will not be reinstated. Timmins Transit On-Demand service will continue to operate, including coverage for Connaught Hill and Bob’s Lake. For more information, visit www.timmins.ca/transit.
