Township Updates Blue Recycling Bin Program in Black River-Matheson

Residents in Black River-Matheson who participate in the municipal recycling program are receiving blue recycling bins, according to a notice from the Township published on May 28. The Township says deliveries will continue for any locations missed during the initial rollout.

The announcement states that Circular Materials assumed operation of the recycling program for the province in January 2025. The Township says this includes Black River-Matheson in the updated administration.

According to the Township, residents may begin using the blue bins as soon as they receive them. The notice lists collection days as Wednesday for the History area, and Tuesday for Range and Matheson areas. The Township says that if a blue bin becomes full before the scheduled pickup day, residents may take their recycling to the alternative bin provided for this purpose.

The Township instructs residents not to break down boxes before placing them in the blue bins. However, if a box is too large to fit, the instructions are to break it down and then put it inside the bin.

For more information and updates about the recycling program, the Township refers residents to Green For Life (GFL) Environmental. Details are available at gflenv.com/canada-recycles, by emailing c32recycling@gflenv.com, or by calling 1-866-553-4352.
