Vega Protein Drink Mix Recalled Due to Possible Plastic Contamination

Vega brand Organic Protein + Supergreens Vanilla Flavoured Drink Mix in 2 kg containers is being recalled because pieces of plastic may be present in the product, according to a notice from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) published July 9, 2025.

The recall concerns products identified by UPC 8 38766 10100 2 with the following lot codes: 2025-08720N (Best Before 2027/AL/25), 2025-08721N (Best Before 2027/MA/01), 2025-09124N (Best Before 2026/AU/22), and 2025-09127N (Best Before 2026/AU/22). The CFIA reports that these drink mixes were distributed online and at retail locations in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.

According to the CFIA, Sequel Naturals, ULC is the firm responsible for the recall. The product is classified as a Class 3 recall. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency advises consumers and retailers not to use, sell, serve, or distribute the affected items. The agency lists this notification under identification number RA-77706.
