Weather report for May 22, 2025

Good morning, Northeast Ontario!

Expect a mix of sun and clouds across communities like Timmins, Kapuskasing, Hearst, and surrounding areas today. Temperatures are set to reach highs between 17 and 19°C, with a light northwest breeze making things feel pretty comfortable overall. Winds will be stronger at times, especially through midday.

Rain is unlikely during the day, but a scattered shower late this afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out for spots closer to the James Bay coast. Tonight, skies will clear a bit and temperatures will fall to the 4 to 6°C range, so keep a light jacket handy if you’re out late.

Friday looks similar—with more sun than cloud, afternoon highs again around 17 to 19°C, and light winds. No major rain expected, but we start to see increasing cloud through Friday night.

Looking ahead to the weekend:

  • Saturday will bring increasing clouds, especially through the afternoon, and a chance of scattered showers late in the day.
  • Sunday is shaping up to be cooler and damp, with showers more likely through the day and highs dropping to the 12 to 14°C range.

UV levels are moderate today and tomorrow. If you’re outdoors for extended periods, a bit of sunscreen is a good idea. Roads should be dry and travel-friendly, but don’t forget a rain layer if your weekend plans have you outside on Sunday.

Have a great Thursday, and enjoy the mild stretch before the weekend rain arrives!
