Weather report for May 31, 2025
Expect a cool and cloudy start across Northeast Ontario today, with temperatures in the upper single digits this morning, gradually rising to the low teens by afternoon. Some scattered light rain showers are moving through Timmins, Kapuskasing, Hearst, and the rest of the Highway 11 corridor, but most communities will see only occasional drizzle or mist.
Winds will be brisk out of the northwest at 20-30 km/h, gusting closer to 40 km/h at times, making it feel a bit cooler than the thermometer reads. The clouds will be slow to break, if at all, so don't expect a lot of sunshine.
Temperatures will dip back toward the low single digits tonight, with patchy fog possible after midnight, especially closer to rivers and lakes.
Looking ahead to Sunday, conditions remain unsettled, with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for another round of light showers or sprinkles. Daytime highs stay cool, in the range of 12 to 15°C.
Weekend preview:
Both today and Sunday will stay chilly for this time of year, so if you're out for early summer activities, a light jacket or rain shell is wise, and you may want to keep plans flexible if you’re hoping for outdoor time. No significant storm systems are expected, but light rain and cloudy skies will linger across much of the region until early next week.
No weather watches or warnings are in effect at this time.
