Cochrane moves Sept. 7 garbage and recycling pickup to Sept. 8 for Labour Day
Garbage and recycling pickup in Cochrane that would normally take place on Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, will be collected a day later on Tuesday, Sept. 8, because the town’s Infrastructure Services will be closed for Labour Day.
The one-day shift affects residents whose regular collection day is Monday, and it changes when bins should be set out for pickup that week.
According to an Aug. 19 public notice from the Town of Cochrane, Infrastructure Services will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
The town said collection normally scheduled for that Monday will take place Tuesday, Sept. 8, and that recycling pickup will also move to Tuesday, Sept. 8.
The notice also asks residents to place bins at the end of their driveways on collection days and keep them a minimum of two feet apart.
