Timmins police charge 43-year-old after Oct. 20 Borden Avenue search; second resident arrested on Cochrane warrants
Timmins police say they have charged Stephan Morin, 43, with drug and weapons offences after a search warrant was carried out at a Borden Avenue address on Oct. 20 as part of a joint investigation with the Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit. Police also arrested a second Timmins resident, Sylvia Wesley, 39, on outstanding warrants issued in Cochrane, Ont.
The arrests were made during what the Timmins Police Service described as a joint drug trafficking investigation that followed an earlier investigation in June 2026 involving Morin. Police said Morin was arrested and charged in June after a search warrant was executed at a Borden Avenue residence. Police said a later warrant was executed at a separate Borden Avenue address on Oct. 20.
Police said Morin is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine and opioid, and with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Police said he is also charged with three counts of possession of a prohibited weapon or device, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.
During the investigation, police said they seized suspected controlled substances, including 1.7 grams of suspected cocaine, 0.5 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, and six tablets of Percocet.
Police said they also seized $279.15 in Canadian currency, two cell phones, and a digital scale and other drug paraphernalia.
Police said they seized weapons and replica firearms, including a bottle of bear spray, a switchblade, a set of brass knuckles and a brass knuckle knife. Police identified three BB guns as a replica Glock 19 pistol, a Crosman pistol and an MCP pistol.
Police said Wesley was arrested on the outstanding Cochrane, Ont., warrants and was transported by the OPP to Cochrane to answer to those charges.
The charges have not been proven in court.
