Golden Avenue in South Porcupine to close for bridge work starting week of May 4, expected to reopen in early fall
Golden Avenue in South Porcupine will be closed to all traffic between Legion Drive and Goldmine Road for the duration of bridge work starting the week of May 4, with construction expected to finish in early fall, according to the City of Timmins.
The closure affects a short section of Golden Avenue near the Golden Avenue bridge. The city said access to Doug McLellan Park will be maintained throughout the project.
Detours will be posted via Bruce Avenue, the city said.
The City of Timmins says the project includes concrete rehabilitation of the existing box culvert, waterproofing of the bridge deck, new asphalt paving, drainage improvements, and installation of a new roadside traffic barrier.
