Timmins lifts boil water advisory west of Mattagami River Bridge

A precautionary boil water advisory for users west of the Mattagami River Bridge in Timmins was lifted at 11:11 p.m. on Sept. 4, 2026, the City of Timmins Environmental Services Department said.

The advisory affected residents and businesses in the area and was put in place after a watermain break caused a temporary loss of water service and water pressure. The city’s notice says the advisory remained in effect until testing confirmed the water was safe to drink.

The City of Timmins reported it completed the required water sampling and that the results were reviewed by both the city and Northeastern Public Health and deemed satisfactory.

The city said the advisory was issued on Sept. 2, 2026, following the watermain break, and stayed in place until two consecutive sets of drinking water samples confirmed the water met all required safety standards.

The notice was posted by the City of Timmins Environmental Services Department.
