Timmins Police Move Auctions Online
The Timmins Police Service will transition its in-person auctions to a digital format. A new Facebook Group named 'Timmins Police Service Auctions' has been created under the main Timmins Police Service page.
Citizens can request to join the group by accepting the rules. Once accepted, they can bid on items online. Items will be posted starting mid-June, with property listings updated every Friday and auctions running for seven days. Bids will be accepted in $1 increments, and winners will be notified by public comment. Winners must pick up their items at the Timmins Police Service Building within seven days.
The Timmins Police Service receives various personal property throughout the year, including tools, household goods, and bicycles. The Police Services Act requires the disposal of this property by public auction. Proceeds from the auctions are used for purposes deemed in the public interest by the Timmins Police Services Board.
To join the group, visit the Timmins Police Facebook page, select 'more,' and click on the Groups tab to find the Timmins Police Service Auctions group.
